About The Painting
Singing in the wattle, Magpie, are delightful birds, their warbling song tones are a wonder and a joy to listen to.
Known also for the aggressive behavior in nesting season one should always be wary of them. But I have found over the years that they can be good visitors and once they realize that you are no threat to them then that aggressive protective behavior evaporates.
It has also been acknowledged that they can understand us and can also imitate our vocals, hence why they stand with their heads on one side listening to us.
I now have two families visit everyday and all day, bringing their youngsters with them for the soaked bread, seed and water that I put out. We sit and have a lovely chat, today we were half a meter apart and getting closer.
