About The Painting
These Eastern Rosella (Platycercus eximius) are having an early breakfast of the flowers of the Red Flowering Gum (Eucalyptus Ficifolia).
They are very social, intelligent, friendly birds with brightly coloured plumage. They can be found in groups both in coastal and inland bush, on the Eastern Coast of Australia.
If you approach them they can be shy and skittish, but once you show that you are not going to harm them, they then study you, with heads tilted to one side, listening to what you are saying, and still eating, of course
